A.k.a Cabernet Dorsa varietal, German cross between Dornfelder and Cabernet Sauvignon. In commercial production in Germany since 2003. Dense inky purple red, highly extracted pigment. Leather, black currant, white pepper and slight funk note in nose initially. Red fruit and mint flavors, tart, fine grain seed tannins with white pepper, mint flavors on finish. Varietal associated with flavors of cherry (present) and bell pepper (arguably present). My first encounter with the varietal.
