First 100% estate grown vintage. Escolle will be recognized among the great Pinot sites in CA in time. This 2014 is going places.

From the cooler side of the SLH, this pinot leans toward the burgundian spectrum, but with a bit more fruit and alcohol. A lovely garnet color with slight orange hues. A cherry nose with oak and cedar in the background. Cherry pie, ripe strawberry, spice, and rhubarb notes on the palate. Medium plus acid, medium plus alcohol, and medium tannins. Smooth and well balanced. A sensuous sipper. Jazz in a glass.

Great Pinot. So well-balanced and delicious. Initially drank half and the rest after sitting for a day. Better the second day.
