This had all the characteristics you like in a good jumilla without the pomp and circumstance of a fancy bodega. 36/25/20/19 monastrell/cab/Syrah/verdot. Rounded fruit, dash of cocoa powder, plum, and deep red cherry w a touch of white pepper and a really nice wash of tannins. Popped w some slightly spicy food.

Big, full-bodied with smooth tannins. Dark berries, purple flowers, earth, smoke and seared meat. Great value.

Aromatic with beautiful blue fruit. Bold yet balanced. Offers structure and a long lingering finish. Perfect for this chilly rainy evening. Very pleasing quaff. Blend is 75% Monastrell 20% Cabernet Sauvignon 5% Petit Verdot. 15% ABV

Not bad for $20, but just too fruity and sweet up front, and too strong and acidic in the finish.

Dark fruit/black raspberry on the tongue, vanilla wood, before a chalky, earthy, spicy finish, all tied together with humming acidity. Pronounced herbal, mint, eucalyptus note towards the end. Complex for the price, making me want to dive into Spain again. Evidence that being powerful AND refined is not impossible.
