Ooo-LaLa! Found another 2001! Deep Ruby with sweet black and red fruit aromas with a pleasant gentle oak notes. A 100% Tempranillo, from 100-Year Old vines, aged for 24 months in French oak barrels. The palate puts forth flavors of ripe red cherries, dried fruit, cacao and tobacco. The wine showed plenty of acidity and round tannins, giving the wine good structure. This full-bodied wine had a long finish leaving with some oak and earthy mineral ending. A Pleasure!

Had this at a restaurant, Deep Ruby with dark fruit aromas and toasty oak notes. On the palate ripe cherry and blackberry flavors, smoky tones, earthy oak, well balanced with acidity, silky soft tannins on lingering finish. Very nice!

Mid ruby, smoky tar, hint of incense, dry, mature tannins, lean elegant spicy reminding me of a small, elegant Japanese lacquer box - with the fine patina of age.

Purple/violet colored with plum and vegetal aromas carrying through to the palate. A bit more syrah-like on the palate with blackberry, raspberry, oak and vanilla flavors. The alcohol stands out a little too much on the finish with the heavy tannins. Drink in 3-5 years (2018-2020).

Grippy strong tannins... thought it was light and disappointing at first but it just needed to open up! Decant or let it sit for an hour. This was solid on day one, great on day two

Another lovely wine! Better than last night but only marginally, so same score. These Spanish and Portuguese wines have the best textures. Definitely drink a little bit on the warmer side. This wine has more fruit and rust elements. Very refined and paired nicely with the suckling pig.
