Has a similar feel to a less spicy Rioja. Needs to be enjoyed with a heavy ish meal like a beef casserole. It’s a really nice colour and texture, and has the real mixture of a Black Forest gateau, with black forest fruits, chocolate and velvety texture. I would certainly drink it again, but we had it with cheese and I’m not sure it was the best pairing, as the complexity of the wine rather takes over the cheese. Going to try it again with meat in the week.

Good robust red that had a cherry/berry aroma. The wine was well paired with piri piri chicken wraps, rice and salad.

Bought Majestic £7.99.
