WS Top 100 ‘17, and I can see why. Smooth, balanced, elegant. Probably the best Malbec I have tasted. Winner of Thanksgiving Eve tasting. Rating affirmed 11/30/18. Minimal decanting necessary.

High altitude, unoaked Malbec. Deep purple. Highly extracted. Big, well polished black and blue fruit notes. Very nice.

Plenty of red and black berries on the palate. High altitude gives this a bit of elegant structure, a floral nose and a spiced finish. Great value. Took a chance at Costco under $20.

Very dark, almost opaque. Medium to thin lip. Leather and mineral aroma. Very balanced. You can taste the complexity from the blend. Long finish. Low to medium tannin.

I find Malbec to be such a reliable varietal. I don’t recall having one that I really didn’t like no matter the price point. The nose on this is dark fruit, a hint of tobacco, and some old wood. The palate is well rounded with spice on the front, dark deep fruit in the middle, and rests with great tannin structure and earthy notes.
