When you just need a break from the work day, this one hit the spot. Fruit forward, opened nicely, tastes like blackberries..

Confession: I tasted this after having had, like, 3 glasses of wine already, so my recollection may not be 100% reliable. That said: neat wine; simultaneously full of rich dark fruits while being bright, fresh, and a little bit funky.

Blackberry, black plum, tobacco leaf. Delicious cab from a producer I wasn’t familiar with.

Lot of talk about the value coming from South Africa and this certainly shows why, great wine with an awesome jammy fruit forward nose but still has the tannins to back it up.

This is a confusing wine, in a good way. So far from a cabernet sauvignon—earthy funk, deep dark fruit, some well integrate oak, but as fresh and bright as a gamay. It’s fun.
