Ambition is clear, but its ripeness is bordering on too lofty. Tannins are sweet and pleasurable and the expansive mid palate very cool. I do find the alcohol too obvious on the finish, though.

Great fruit and nuance. I agree with Bradley that Gabilan area can be amazing for Grenache.

Wow. Kind of shocked but maybe I shouldn’t be. Gabilan mountains east of Monterey. Rich but very much not ‘fruit forward California’. It’s all mineral length. Dark fruit. Medium body. Majority mourvedre. If you told me this was from Sicily I’d believe you.

Magnum @ 8 years
49% Grenache, 27% Syrah, 24% Mourvèdre

Bottle waxed, crumbly cork, be prepared to use ah-so (?sp, double prong opener) and filter into decanter, some yeasty sediment at very end of decant.

Enjoyable on open, better with 2-3 hour decant. Baby with long life ahead.

53% Mourvedre, 30% Grenache, 17% Syrah.

Mourvedre dominate, this is my jam!

Very good right now, recommend a two hour decant. Recommend holding for another 5-7 years.

Great on second day.

Impressive touch. Fruit is restrained which really highlights some earthy herbal notes. Very balanced. I have been impressed by this producer. Making a number of different styles with different grapes. All have been very balanced and delicious.

A bit young by a few years. Tasty but pricey for how much we liked it. Fruity with some moderate complexity but wish we had waited a few years.
