What a big, burly wine! At 10 years old already, this could probably have gone another decade in the bottle. The tannins were certainly present, but they had certain sweetness about them. Flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, leather, and tobacco dominate this massive wine. What a perfect pairing with our prime rib Christmas dinner. I will definitely seek this one (or other pignolos) out in the future, though I'd like to taste one with even more bottle age! 100% Pignolo. 12/25/21.
