Dark black raspberry fruit with some brambly, toasty notes. Rich spicy blackberry fruit and some minerally notes. From a tactile perspective, maybe a bit overextracted as some bitter tannin shows through on the finish. Overall, though, a good value at $15. Go Pats!

Really delicious, especially for the price. Great fruit, structure. Nice pepper finish.

Buy all you can find at your local Costco. From front to back - great balance of acid and fruit. STRUCTURE! Not a lazy zin fruit bomb. A steal at $12.99. Could easily go for $40 a bottle.

This medium-dark Mendocino Zin sports a playful nose of strawberry and boysenberry with a cinnamon twist. On the palate, raspberry and cherry play off of one another in front of a spicy backdrop. The tannins are smooth. The wine drinks young and breezy.

Prune and pepper nose. Taste reflected the nose. Add some jamminess and you have the prototypical Zin.

Dark purple in color with a reddish rim and medium intensity.

Strong nose of plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, earth, peppercorn, smoke, light barnyard, chocolates, alcohol and spices.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and long legs.

Fruity on the palate with blackberries, plums, raisins, currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, earth, leather, pencil lead, peppercorn, green vegetables, herbs and chocolates.

Medium finish with fine grained tannins and tart cherries.

A nice Zinfandel from Mendocino County, California. A little unbalanced, but drinkable nonetheless, by itself or with food.
A little lighter than I expected with mild complexity, and above average.

Very spicy, especially right out of the bottle. Needs 90 minutes to open up properly.

I had this vintage around six months ago, and it seems to get more complexity with time, but lost some of its balance.

Aged in 100% French oak barrels.

I paired it with soft and hard cheeses, and light appetizers.

14.7% alcohol by volume.

Pleasant surprise: legit Zin here, maybe a touch hot but intense varietal fruit & character, impressive extraction & finesse. Brambly gnarly a lot of personality… Believe this was under $20 and that’s great QPR. Mendo can still produce value
