Wow. Power, purity, elegance, and depth. Layers of red and black fruit / leather / chocolate / tobacco. Canโ€™t miss.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, from vineyards in Alexander County, is bold and savory in the glass. Dark cherry, tobacco, iron, leather and dried herbs give the 2018 plenty of character as well as punch. The tannins are perhaps just a bit rustic. Otherwise, the 2018 is nicely done. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, July 2021)

Graphite, cigar, chocolate, dried basil(?), over dark berries. Nice structure, a little tight, but good to go for those tempted early. Cheers.

Deep and dark purplish red. Layered nose with milk chocolate, plums, spice box and dark minerality. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Lush mouthfeel and dark flavors on the palate with notes of blackberries, cassis, graphite, dark chocolate and minerality. Long finish. Drink till 2032. (91+)

Really nice! Blueberry, blackberry, cinnamon, crushed rocks, gravel, and hints of vanilla toasted oak. This screams Sonoma from the really nice acidity that keeps it bright and fresh.

First stop on our MD trip this year was to Aperture Cellars in downtown Healdsburg.

First red wine at Aperture Cellars with Lauren. Deep ruby red in appearance. Layered nose with baking spices, little bit of purple flowers and some dusty dark cherries. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus body. Seems to have gone into a silent phase but excited to see where it will be in a couple years. Long finish. Drink till 2026.

Tasted at the tasting room and retails for $62.00.
