Fancy painting on the somewhat cheesy label. Dark in color. Purple. Smells like barbecued plums and fancy lavender soap. Flavors are a bit muddled with jams from berries and stone fruits mixing with roasted red peppers and a bit of tart cherry juice. This has decent balance, juiciness and a rich mouthfeel and a dry tongue-snacking finish. It’s pretty good, more a duchess than empress, but a nice wine.
