Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend

Giovanni Allegrini was the founder of the new generation and revolutionized changes to accepted practices. A blend of Corvina Veronese 45%, Corvinone 45%, Rondinella 5% & Oseleta 5%, deep Ruby with aromas of dried dark fruits, spice and herb, about 120 days of appassimento. Palate shows ripe cherry & raspberry flavors with fig, cacao, flint and mineral tones. Soft smooth tannins well balanced with acidity on a long spicy finish. Will continued to get better with age. Sustainable.

Complex and rich.

This is pleasant and enjoyable but is lacking fruit. I think it may be past it’s prime. Enjoyable with Italian food. Seek out a newer vintage if possible.

A special treat for Christmas! Dark inky ruby color. Blackberry compote, tar, and dust on the nose and palate. Layers of tobacco, plum, mocha, licorice, and cinnamon. Rich and complex, with less residual sugar than I expected. 15.5% alcohol.

Classic corvina. Resembles a Pinot Nero

So much flavor in every sip! Licorice on the nose. Full bodied. Dry but fruity. Tar, mocha, raisin. In love.

Excellent Amarone for under $100...

Voluptuous amarone at its peak. Dry fruits, reduction, tobacco, and leather. Smooth finish. A touch of acidity would have brought it to different level.
