Oct 11th, 2018Bright and clear garnet red. Black cherry, violets, and brown spices on the nose. Medium-light-bodied palate echoes the nose with a touch of tarry black tea on the finish. Bright acidity (relatively) and very light (medium minus) barely discernible tannins reveal this as a wine made for food. And it shines in that role. A red for seafood (classic salmon or trout pairing is a must) and a natural with game fowl. The Italian take on Pinot Noir… er… Nero is one that Pinot fans should definitely explore.
