Description and ratings from 18-August still hold. This time, we took it to a restaurant where it shone. A very nice food Pinot that’s at home with a wide variety of fares. We did it with Italian this time.

Bright and clear garnet red. Black cherry, violets, and brown spices on the nose. Medium-light-bodied palate echoes the nose with a touch of tarry black tea on the finish. Bright acidity (relatively) and very light (medium minus) barely discernible tannins reveal this as a wine made for food. And it shines in that role. A red for seafood (classic salmon or trout pairing is a must) and a natural with game fowl. The Italian take on Pinot Noir… er… Nero is one that Pinot fans should definitely explore.

The history of the Armani family began in the Adige Valley on December 7, 1607, when Domenico Armani signed the deed for lands with "trees and grapevines", which previously belonged to his father Simone Armani. Ruby with aromas of ripe red fruits and hints of spice. On the palate strawberry and cherry flavors with licorice notes on developed tannins. Lingering finish ending with some pepper tones.

Bouquet of mushrooms and fresh air after a spring rain. Silky tart cherry, strawberry, and blueberry fruit. Medium-bodied and surprisingly more elegant with aeration (at least 30 minutes). Young but pleasant with Italian fare. Reminds me of young Pinot Noir from Oregon.

Salted dark cherry chocolate, finished with a handful of tart cranberries. Full on acidity to chew on , whispfully light oak.
A very good wine, if your in the mood for the style, or have some food that can stand up to the acidity.

2013 - very pleasant with smoked pork. Smooth throughout. Quite nice. We'll try again.
