Pale ruby with notes of cherry, raspberry, and plenty of spice notes. Low tannins and very drinkable.

Agostino Pavia & Figli Grignolino D’Asti DOC 2018: Light/Medium body. Lovely acidity. Clean juicy taste. Made entirely from the Grignolino grape, a red Italian grape variety commonly grown in the Piemonte region, this wine had fruity aromas and fresh red fruit (strawberry & red currants) & earth notes. The finish was smooth yet short. For me, this was a new grape/new discovery and I approached it with eagerness & excitement. Definitely one of the softer Italian wines I’ve experienced in some time. Maybe it was too young or the stainless steel aging but it lacked the structure/complexity you’d expect from a Piemonte wine. All in all, it was very approachable & pleasant and I will need to seek out another producer’s Grignolino wine to get a better experience & comparison of this grape. Cheers 🎄🍷

Red cherry, raspberry, a bit earthy, and a tad herbal, sweet and bitter tannins, sips like a Sangiovese and a Burgundian pinot
