I was curious about wine made of Mencía. Adrás made good Godello--I bought that bottle for the same reason: grape curiousity. This one is not as interesting as the Godello. It is quite bright and acidic, full of red cherries and pomegranate. The oak tannin is not quite integrated but supplies some texture. I wouldn't get this one again I don't think but still want to try more wines made if Mencía.

Would have been good without the oak hammer pounding away on my head. The fruit was there but masked by the wood, which they called “a hint”. No secrets here.

Musty, earthy, spicy. Got better as it opened over an hour. Really ended up enjoying it.
