My wife Barb holding the 1997 Wendouree Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine was a gift from me to my brother Mike on his 70th Birthday a couple of years ago and yesterday at lunch at his place he decided to open it. The Wine itself had trademark aromas of menthol and eucalyptus. On the palate a powerful mid to full bodied palate with great savoury length and medium persistent tannins. Lacking a little berry fruit to be ultra critical.

Overwhelming nose of menthol/moth balls. Dominates everything. Tannins starting to soften. Texturally very good but overall the hype on Wendouree is overblown IMO.
