Raising a glass to the original Trader Joe, who passed recently. (Hope we aren’t about to meet you on the other side, brother; #Corona.) Sampled this in-store and it’s a TJs wine find, for sure. The logo on the label would make anyone a bit sheepish to open this outside of one’s home (it’s the ideal wine for social distancing, in that respect). But if you frequent the wine racks at Trader Joe’s, like I do, you know that there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. Rich, bright but mellow tannins. Plum. Dry. As good as anything coming out of Napa on a more respectable label at 30-40 bones. — 4 years ago
