A joyous nose to this 2015 Crianza from Condado de Haza, replete with aromas of blackberry, red cherry, sundried tomato and vanilla. The palate is deep, saturated, and so satisfying: wells of ripe blackberry, black pepper along with a slightly herbaceous edge, with good tannin & acidity, leading to a long-ish finish. This wine takes me back to Malaga, where I’ve drunk the wines of Alejandro Fernandez on several occasions with great pleasure. The man behind Pesquera recently passed; this wine is very much an entry level wine but a great testament to his legacy.

In 1972, Alejandro Fernández & wife Esperanza Rivera of Pesquera de Duero initiated the renaissance of Ribera del Duero appellation with area's first modern wire-trained vineyard, their Viña Alta in Pesquera. Their entry level wine that’s a great value. Deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits. Palate shows red berry fruits and light spice, vivid acidity and firm tannins. Medium finish ending with fruit character. Tried a year ago, still tasting well.

Fresh vanilla bean and dried prune.

The nose is a good Segway to what this wine is, a well done, young Tempranillo. Medium bodied with fresh orchard fruits. Sweet tango apples, blackberry purée, dried oregano, red potato skin. Unique flavors, from an amazing wine house.

Love the oak smell. Good with cheese, but not great with acidic foods like olives and pickles
