Holy moly this pinot is delicious. Delicate, with some raspberry, fresh light herbs, anise, and clove tones with elevated, yet juicy acidity... the thing that makes this pinot so good is that it is simple, with excellent balance, and yet still has some complex layers. Aromas are enticing, and the finish is almost bone dry. Fairly young of course - could use a few more years to really be in its prime, however even now it is just flippin' fantastic. One of the best under $50 pinot noir I've had in a while.

Medium ruby hue. Aromas and flavors of baking spice, leather, nutmeg, raspberry, rose petal, tar, and vanilla. Medium body and tannins, with high acidity. Soft, rounded, and balanced. Drinking perfectly now.

Medium bodied, plump, delicious Pinot sourced entirely from the Bearwallow Vineyard. Gorgeous red fruit core of raspberries and cherries with herbs, damp soil, and cola. This improved with a little air but was essentially pop-and-pour. $40

The Alesia label is dedicated to estate grown fruits. For 2016, it’s a single vineyard bottling.

Initially tasted at a Rhys pick up event and was enamored. Spice and cherry goodness. This bottle was muted and demure in comparison.
