I think it is a delicious wine, but I agree with some of the others here that the acidity leaves you puckering and saliving a wee bit much. Hints of reduction. Oak is well integrated. Nervy. #macon #vireclesse

Loved everything I’ve tried from this label (the Dominique Lafon Maconnais project). This is very aromatic with lots of creamy lemon and apricot with some oak spice and flint, ripping acid, not terribly long but intense. Fine stuff for the category. Vire-Clesse? More like Very Classy!! Am I right? Ok I’ll show myself out

Nice wine with good acid. Crisp apple and pear with a substantial finish. Very enjoyable. Would not hesitate to serve with any buttery seafood dish.

Souffre et réduction i,portante au départ, se place un peu ensuite, belle minéralité quand même mais peut-être pas la meilleure bouteille.

Maybe not the best bottle, a lot of reduction and some sulfur upon opening but slowly replcea it itself to show that nice minerality and freshness of this producer.

Little cousin to Montrachet without the sticker shock. Great nose, long finish. Acid but round at the same time.

Stone fruit, citrus, crisp. Classic white burg and a good QPR ⚡️

The first nose is very mineral : crushed rocks only. Then after a while hay comes, then lemon, then after a while pineapple and mango. The nose literally blossoms in the glass. Magnificent ! The palate is pretty straight forward at first with a solid acid backbone and some width with lemon but it gets bigger and wider after a while and the exotic fruits make an appearance in mid palate that turns this bad boy into a beauty. The finish is precise, pretty long, with both lemon and exotic fruits taking turns to show off. It was served along an entrée dish consisting of fresh goat cheese and herbs, candied apricot and pear, beef jamon (cecina) and olive oil. Perfect pairing!

Good Chardonnay, well-made but uninteresting. A little sweet for my taste, but classic in style, with no manipulation.
