Relative to other Syrah produced in this vineyard as well as most CA Syrah, I love this bottling. The Northern Rhône inspiration shines through, with classic black pepper, olive, earthiness that I enjoy.

This wine has totally stumped me. Meaty, black olives, super super tight tannins. Jack brought up a great note about how there is dried mushroom written all over this (dried porcini?). Think I jumped the gun on this one, but I find it really reassuring to see this style of Syrah coming out of California. Have a few more bottles stowed away and can’t with to see what comes of them.
