Big, almost chewy. Vanilla, dark berry, and a bit sweet. Not particularly tannic or alcoholic (though there's plenty of alcohol). Pair with spicy/grilled meat or rich desserts.

food: roast pork or beef (ml: bbq pork ribs)
Drunk: round tannin, no need to breathe or 15mins, licorice, anise, mild vanilla oak, dry cherry, a tad sweet; should pair well with roasted pork chop, sweet tomato sauce pizza or pasta

From one of the warmest sites in France, the 2014 Cotes du Roussillon Villages Lieu Dit La Narassa comes from 70-year-old vines planted in the black schist soils of Maury. Despite the rugged, hot terroir from where this beauty comes, the wine is pure silk and elegant, with lots of black raspberry, chocolate covered currants, pepper and olive notes giving way to a full-bodied 2014; it has polished tannin and a seamless texture. drink it anytime over the coming 4-5 years.(JD) (4/2016)

Smokey with some flint and a whole lot of fruit. A mouthful, but finish dissipates quickly. Relatively light tannins. I think this might b a good party wine. Would have pretty wide appeal.

Apr 6th, 2017Truly tastes like a dry dessert wine (see label): Rich, red berry, vanilla, easy tannins, smooth. Could have paired poorly, but did well as an after dinner bottle. Likely would be best with strong, red game, and caramelized fennel/shallot flavors.
