Riserva Salice Salentino Negroamaro

A solid wine for the price.

Dark crushed cherry jubilee nose..

Those crushed cherries predominant, a touch of the obscure mint, medium. Bodied with a lovely mouthfeel, amd the slightest of ripe fruit sweetness. High acidity, and perfect grape skin tannins. A good Negroamaro, gets better every year.

Founded in 1979 by Giovanni Cantele and his two sons Augusto and Domenico. Ruby with big fruit aromas with sweet jammy notes. On the palate concentrated berry fruit flavors, a bit jammy and sweet, lively acidity, surprisingly great balance. Firm tannins yielding a medium finish ending with noticeable alcohol. Good value for a wine with a bit of complexity.

Delicious negroamaro! Aromas of stone fruit jam with a touch of earthiness. Cassis, dried plum, and berries with a slight mineral finish. Great balanced vino!

Nose metallic and sharp, with underlying sweetness. Same on palate; spicy, some lemon, a little thin. Interesting, if not great. Pandemic bottle #29.

Cant remember is this was cheap or expensive. Tastes like it's worth it regardless.

Great stuff. Lots of leather... the fruit, alcohol, tannins, all very balanced.

Really enjoyed this, notes of raspberry and cranberry. Lighter in feel than the Nero d’avola I like from Sicily. Jammy but not too sweet. Recommend. Had with mushroom topped pizza. Under $15.

Dark fruit, pepper and oak with complex flavors

A little too acidic which improves with Oxygen. Probably could benefit from aging.
