Previous tasting note here was for October 2022. Aromas of menthol , plum skins and friable soil. Medium bodied palate showing a strangely sweet chocolate character amongst the savouriness. A few years left in the drinking window. Have the last one in 2+ years.

Very savoury aromatics - earthy , mushrooms, wet nappy, leather, plums. The palate is medium bodied finishing with grippy fine powdery tannins - a little astringent. This wine is middle aged and will carry on through to the mid 2020’s. I have had better Brunellos. Will put it down to the vintage where there are differing views. Parker said 2012 was 88/100 and “ready to drink”.

This still needs a bit of time. Quite tart. Showed a lot of rose petal and tar upfront...maybe even some iron? Very underripe fresh squeezed blackberries and black cherry on the palate, with underbrush and cedar.

Not normally the biggest fan of Brunello but this was outstanding. Deep, dark fruits, a hint of leather, and incredibly surprising acidity.

Just a 👶.
Not my favorite Drew. What did you think of it?
I get a bright amarone type of note on the palate. Unfortunately, I dislike Amarone’s!! I only enjoy raisins on my Raisin Bran in the morning. Lol

Spicy cedar, cigar box on the nose. Sharp bright cherries with an iron and tar base. Smooth integrated tannins with a grapefruit pith tail and a long finish. Very nice.

We had this light bodied Brunello at Marcello’s. Raspberry and strawberry on the palate. No tannin, ready to drink out of the bottle. A more fruit forward Brunello.

This wine had really good black cherry aromatics along with a bit of a savory character. The entry of this wine is medium-bodied at best, and then it sort of descends into a hole in the middle. Makes a nice comeback in the finish, with some mint and black cherry. Very stiff youthful oak tannin finish. This seems to be a producer that sided on the Traditionalist side in the Barolo wars, and this is the side I typically prefer. However, this one just didn't have the complexity, no fault of its own. Will be a monster in 10 years.

Just freaking amazing! Still a bit young but really came together about two hours into it.

Red fruit and herbs, mostly sage. Very clean and balanced.
