Yesterday’s Wednesday Wine Committee, hosted by @Jeff Meyer , was so educational with fantastic German & Austrian wines. 1 sparkler, 5 whites, 5 reds, 1 dessert wine. All served blind as usual.
Runner up for my white of the day. Being Auslese in style, there was a ton of richness yet it didn’t feel like there was a massive amount of RS. Candied tropical mango, lychee, grapefruit, slate/minerality, with great acidity. I called this Auslese styled German Riesling.

JL Selbach tasting 11/16/17. Auslese starred. Sweeter. Lower on the hill and warmer. What a beautiful nose of pineapple and flowers and petrol hay minerals. Great body a and finish. Young. $35.
