Mâcon-Villages Chardonnay

Always an outstanding value. The warmth of the vintage comes through in spades. Bright tropical notes layered over a solid core of apples and pears. A hint of oyster shell minerality on the back but overall this a richer style with a lush, rounded mouthfeel with a lot of Sur Lie hallmark. Very balanced and fresh, a superb choice at this price point.

Pear on the nose. Starts with citrus. Ends with black licorice.

Drinking way above village wine. Carmel Apple, med bodied, minerality and nice acid. A bit pricy, but I can see why.

Despite the borderline excessively sunny vintage, this maintains a nice mineral tension behind the mouth-filling flavors of slightly exotic fruit. I keep drinking it, if that's any indicator.

Tasty

Sweet buttery (chaptalization?), good acid and medium, some grass, the sugar doesn’t feel real

Paired with a Crottin de Chevignol and ginger spiced beets

Light on the nose but sweet apple and bread dough on the pallette. Pairs well with an earthy and slightly bitter dish.

Fermented tropical fruits and pear on the nose. Pineapple, pear, and nice minerality on the palate. Medium acidity.

Crisp. Good minerality. Subtle apple and pear flavors present.
