To start the week I have opened the 2015 Cooper Hill Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. This is a 100% organically grown pinot noir.
This wine is automatically challenged. I let sit for 30 minutes and when poured I beat it vigorously and still it was hard to pick up the aromas. Finally after swirling for awhile I finally was able to pick out notes of cherry, red raspberry, vanilla and earthy soils.
On the palate the nose carries over with tart cherry, red raspberry, pomegranate, black tea and earthy notes.
This is a medium bodied wine with medium acidity and medium smooth tannins. Not by any streatch of the imagine the ideal Oregon pinot I have come to love. Have a great wwwk and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷

2 people found it helpfulAug 1st, 2017Tastes like a slightly lighter Pinot noir. There’s some vegetal about it (mushrooms?). There are some slight notes... maybe chocolate or tar, but it’s so faint. Slight blueberry (?) in the 2015 vintage.

Apr 1st, 2018recommended by nytimes. organic. pretty young and fresh. raspberries. strawberries. fruitier than we normally drink. though it makes me curious about other pinot's.
