This 2016 Black Label Riesling from Alkoomi Wines is a stunning new release. Their black label wines are made from only the best fruit and have the potential to age well, if you have the patience as they taste pretty good young too! Thanks Sandy & Rod for sending this sample over.

Pale yellow colour on the eye with a slight green fleck to it. The nose is delicate and shows hints of florals, citrus fruit and crisp minerality. The palate follows suit and is just so darn delectable - I could drink this all day and night. On first sip it felt like it was summer - I can't wait to get stuck into this over the hotter months. $25 per bottle.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #mediasample

I love the vibrant green bottle this Alkoomi Wines 2016 Riesling comes in, it simply oozes freshness! A bit of a fun fact for you here, traditionally German Rieslings were bottled in either brown or green glass bottles. Brown meant they were from the Rheingau region and green from the Mosel (this one's from the Great Southern regions Frankland River😜).

This 2016 is a brand new release which I was lucky enough to grab a sample of. At $15 a bottle it goes down quite nicely indeed.

It's a fresh lemon lime colour on the eye with crisp scents of Granny Smith apples, grapefruit and lean minerality coming through. The nose was rather delicate which surprised me when I tasted the palate as it had a nice oomph of flavour - think fresh lychee and pear with a lovely acidity that leaves you with a nice clean palate.

Lightning acidity, fresh lime with a wet stone backbone.

Best of the wines tonight! Medium body with a sweet start but a dryer finish. Pear & a touch of citrus? A really good Summer wine.

Stone fruit and white Flint on the nose. Light minerality. Some white stone fruit flavors. Perhaps some flint. Not sweet. Very tasty.
