Excited to try this well-aged Bojo, from a producer reputed to make wines that benefit from age. It’s still got surprisingly youthful color. Nose has very slightly stewed (in a good way) red fruit, an interesting sous-bois note, and the characteristic granitic minerality still there. Soft in the mouth, with that cooling tertiary flavor profile I associate with aged Bordeaux, although with friendlier fruit still there. Very interesting and enjoyable! Shout out to my bro, @Angelo Casagrande for giving this to me.

First thought it had rolled down that hill but after 15 min it opened up and bloomed. With that surprising profile of autumnal forest with just a hint of long ripened fruits expected of Beaujolais, almost like a prune. Then realized I’d had this twice already over three years ago! Distinctive wine from the region, who said it’d be good for 6-8 years!?

Belated Irish corned beef and cabbage dinner at Bao's 3/31/19. Perfect wine for it! Surprised how well it complemented the acidic and fatty meat and cabbage. Still fresh and lively with earthy ripe fruit notes and nice long finish. From Acker. $20. Good value still.

Remarkably alive and tasty with structure and mineral infused faded crushed flower profile that stands apart from the typical fruity picture that is Beaujolais. Yum. Good long finish revealing more of that Gamay note. Acker buy at 18.

2004. What a special treat to get this sent straight from Nicole’s cellar! I can’t believe this is still available from her. Perfectly aged and ready.
