Only ever had Teutonic whites and a 13 red- they really killed this 14! A nice mix of elegance, spice and drinkability. Youthful, fun.

Some great German-style Willamette Pinot (or should I say Spätburgunder?) from Teutonic, who are quickly becoming one of my favorite producers in the Willamette. Lithe and elegant but showing the ripeness of the warm 2014 vintage; as a result it has an enjoyable richness yet still possesses great refreshment value, especially with a slight chill. Pours a pale ruby, fading slightly at the rim. Nose of ripe sour cherry and cranberry, stemmy, whole cluster anise-y cola spice, fresh red rose petal, and post-rain rocky, gravelly soil. On the palate it shows similarly to the nose with a bit more focused red fruit and mineral intensity, although the floral and the stemmy, whole cluster spice character is still apparent. Great balance and decent length. Acid is medium (+) to high, medium (-) body, fine grained tannins of low to medium (-) intensity. Delicious stuff.

A nice marriage of stone and twigs, crisp, clean and pure for the price point. Concentrated red berry core and a light-footed power. Stemmy tannins line a long finish.
