Aromatically closed. This had a riper fruit character, and the aging in French barrique made it richer on the palate. While I think it's good,I'm a much bigger fan of more traditional Brunello. This doesn't have the aromatic complexity that Sangiovese is so famous for.

Decanted 2+ hours. Color Ruby and cut glass--bright in the glass. Nose is highly perfumed, sweet, flower petals, sugar candy. Slides over the tongue and is light bodied and tannic. Cherry, mushroom or forest floor, flowers on the palate. Fun.
