Roussette du Bugey-Montagnieu Altesse
On the nose, wax and lemons. In the mouth, minerals and lemon zest, high acidity, a touch of possible oxidation. Interesting wine, fairly rich for the style.

Jun 22nd, 2018Aromatically & texturally, this is evocative of Vouvray. The palate reminds me of a mineral & acid driven, tense Burgundy. What I realized is that better than comparing it to those other regions, the combined character makes for an excellent example of Savoie Altesse. The Savoie in general is a region I need to be drinking a lot more of.

Oct 28th, 2016Peppery and smoky, a nice higher-elevation wine with great character and medium body, almost reminiscent of a Chenin Blanc.
