👁 capa y densidad media 👃🏻 buena potencia, fruta negra, oliva, ahumado 👄 potente, estructurado, agradable y con buen final... final un poco cargado todavía de madera, mejorará

Pretty much perfect end to a Saturday with the 2013 Vara Y Pulgar and the new record from Boogarins . Wine is smoky & dark, yet unbelievably nimble. The record is layered & complex and will be one, just like their other work to unfold for years to come. Get these.

Outstanding (fairly unknown) Southern Spanish single varietal wine. Bright and rich purple color. Full bodied but delicate at the same time. Dark berry aromas with hints of roasted vegetables and leather. Dark cherry and plum fruit flavors with a note of those roasted vegetables, black pepper, bacon and dark chocolate. Very harmonious. Tannins are present but well rounded/integrated. Very pleasant surprise.

Really terrific red recommended by one of the folks here at Vino Volo at DTW. Nice combination of fruit and minerality. Personally I’d drop it a few degrees, but it’s going great with their lamb meatball plate!

The scents of dried figs and raisins prelude a diverse pallet of currants, prunes, dried fruits, spices, and perhaps a hint of limestone and olives. Good balance between body and tannins with an overall moderate intensity. Was a fine pair to pizza.

Black olive/plum, without salinity or saccharine tendency. Nose is muted, just a bit of dried fruit and tannins. Well-integrated, medium finish. This is smooth without getting into Michael McDonald territory.
