Blackberry jam with a touch of chocolate and smoked hickory made this a tasty wine. Medium bodied, with balanced acidity and surprisingly potent tannins. Flavor did seem to fade after being open 1hr+ so don't overdo it with the decanting. Robust tannins helped it paired nicely with rosemary garlic butter strip streaks and homemade mashed potatoes.
