Bright raspberries and sassafras on the nose, with earth, worn leather, and white pepper filling out the bouquet. Initially juicy with ripe blueberries, rushing into cranberries and finishing with dark cherries, dark plums, dark cocoa and fresh leather. Seems a bit unbalanced - almost like the cab franc makes a cameo experience and leaves the rest of the cast (Gamay in this case) to be forgotten. Still a delight to drink from an awesome winemaker.
