Domaine Tempier
Cuvée La Tourtine Bandol Mourvedre Blend
Happy Mother’s Day! Much like our son, this wine has a long and happy life ahead of it. But, also not unlike Asher, I ran out of patience. I mean, just look at that brooding inky violet going on in the glass. Still mostly locked down under a stone-faced countenance but a little air coaxes out some dark berries, leather, herbs, lavender and a hint of that famous animalistic quality. This probably gains another half point in a decade or so

May 13th, 2018Currant, barnyard, tallow, stewed game, iron, liver paté. Beautiful nose.
Palate is pretty soft at this point but delicious and complex: red currant, game, pomegranate verging on sour cherry, black pepper, garrigue. Acidity is medium and tannins are present but so well integrated at this point.
Fantastic Bandol in the peak of its maturation. Lovely on its own and with Scott's delicious lamb kabobs.

Delicious and complex. A lot of structure and acidity in it.
