Tonight, I needed the acid, and the 2013 Schafer-Frohlich Felseneck GG brought the acid.
.
The bouquet on the 2013 Felseneck pulls you close to the glass, opening up with a tropical expression of papaya, mango and lime, and then evolving to show fresh mint, crushed green apple and stone dust.  It’s electrifying on the palate, tactile and buzzing, as zesty acids and minerals upon minerals cascade across the senses, yet balanced with silky, soothing textures, as an array of orange and yellow citrus pucker the cheeks.  The finish is long, tense and practically salty, with residual acids clenching the experience as a note of granny smith apple and savory herbs slowly fade away.
