Masterful, per usual. Platt can be enigmatic at times, but with a little air this is ebullient, and transparent in every sense. A notably fragrant, lifted nose of sweet red fruit entwined with savory and floral complexity. The palate shows the same sweetness but also a cool elegance, a silky texture with integrated tannins, and barely perceptible oak; this is classy and light on its feet but not shy. Paired with a mushroom borscht which echoes the vinous, savory complexity of the wine, and walks the same line between delicacy and richness. A gorgeous wine which expresses balance not as a mission statement but as the simple result of gentle treatment from vineyard to bottle.

Crushed rose petals and cranberry aromas with a bit of barnyard. Sour cherries, framboise and menthol on the palate. Finish lingers nicely with some white pepper and more sour cherries. Elegant and restrained with a nod towards Burgundy. As always, an excellent wine from Littorai.

Lovely concentration of Pinot fruits. Purchased at the Sonoma winery last year. Drank with homemade sourdough pizza.
