Estate Bottled North Yuba Cabernet Sauvignon

Banner vintage for them. Black currant, sweet cherry and blackberry fruit still holding strong, iron and leather and wet bark in the background, totally resolved, totally delicious. Needs to be consumed in one go which should not be a problem

Opened the 1999 Proprietary Red a few days earlier which had just past over its peak with oxidative notes coming out.

Wow. Guessed ‘98 Brunello blind. Wouldn’t have guessed new world in ten tries. Past peak but still offering dried red fruit, resolved tannin, and uplifting acidity. Look forward to researching this producer.

The anti-California Cabernet. Totally at it's peak.

Surprised to find this in a local liquor store. So much life in the wine. A huge backbone of acid. Starting to taste middle aged, but nice.

Back when gideon was the wine maker score this last bottle of renaissance in the house at paul marcus. A bit tired, perhaps a touch cooked. Still quite nice.

Very nice wine. Amazing for such an old wine. Showing its age a bit but still a fine cab.

This bottle was off dry. But in a really nice way.

Not sure what happened. The other renaissance wines we've had were definitely dry, a lot of variance bottle to bottle though.

Pretty ruby with brown showing thru the edges. Red spiced fruit and that mild sweetness. Barely noticeable tannins.
