Monleale Colli Tortonesi Barbera

Big barbera with age. Was a fun bottle but seemed to start to fade near the end. Would drink now if you got it.

Shoulders have relaxed and sharp edges rounded. Easy drinking and well balanced.

14 year old single vineyard barbera? Per que non? Nose of iron bay leaf, wet leaves dark stewed fruits, prune,eucalyptus, thyme. On the palate, great energy and incredible density, not particularly deep in fruit or secondary notes. Brown spices, more prune, fig, maybe even some dried unsweetened apricot. A little red note on the finish. Not great complexity or length but tasty
