Bruno Giacosa
Asili Riserva Barbaresco Nebbiolo
Hmm. Quite evolved. A bit surprisingly so, but perhaps expressive of the vintage. (Jibes with what I've read, but limited personal experience with the 2000s.) Nice wine, for sure, but had hoped for a bit more verve and freshness.

Apr 25th, 20132000 Bruno Giacosa Riserva Asili di Barbaresco. Holiday dinner w McC and M at Il P. Really good for most of the bottle- a little sweetness, a little funk. K was pleasantly surprised how enjoyable it was, despite its youth. Only thing to note was that the very last bit of wine that had been sitting in the glass was completely flat when we came back around to it ~45 min later.

Dec 21st, 2016Very bright red fruit. Cranberry/ rasberry/ strawberry fresh. Great clarity on the palate. A real zip and zest. Just fantastic. Young but years of stuff ahead. About as good as young fruit gets.

Nov 7th, 20163L 2000 Falletto Asili Di Barbaresco brought by DS. Drank at holiday Nobu dinner alongside the 3L 2001 Falletto Di Serralunga D'Alba Barolo brought by K. K preferred this wine to the Asili. Believed this would be better in the longer term, while I thought the Barolo was drinking better now.
