Pop and pour....old school Napa Chardonnay history in a bottle (over 65 yrs making Napa Chard). Most vintages need some age to really show off. On the nose: grass, citrus, honey, minerals, and floral. Taste: creamy, juicy acidity, young, fresh wine with white peach, minerals, slate, lemon-lime, and a long almond pear finish. YUM!

One of my all-time favorite Chardonnays and have been on the mailing list since the early 1990s. Found this vintage at an Indiana shop. Always true to the fruit without the masking that malolactic and oak. Long finish slight green apple pear and lemon. Owing to the acidity I’ll leave the remaining couple bottles in the cellar and taste them in a year or more.

This was a classic Stony Hill Chardonnay, in wonderful shape, not a hint of age, well-rounded balanced flavors, good acidity.

Green-apple-flavored Chardonnay. Very different and interesting. But at $52, a disappointment. I don’t expect a high-end expensive Chardonnay to taste like this. I would be very satisfied at $25. This unoaked, non-malolactic fermentation Chardonnay is the first I have had with this crisp flavor. Although Chardonnay can have quite a range from steely Chablis to buttery Napa, this is out-of-range for me. Tastes and feels like a German or Austrian white. It needs to breathe for an hour.

Heard much about this one and all the build up did not disappoint. Delicious and oh so well balanced.
