Paleo Bolgheri Cabernet Franc

I guessed old-school Napa producer. The Cab Franc character gave enough menthol/mint along with deep cassis fruit and just the right amount of oak to lead me there. Best wine I’ve had from Le Macchiole. That’s the fun of blind tasting.

Expressive nose of orange peel, coffee, dark cherries, scrub herbs, chocolate, tannins are present, good lwngth. Felt a bit older

A taste of summer on a cool Sunday evening in Singapore, having this full tasting mellowing grapey 2012 cab franc, low alcohol tasting and short aftertaste with pan fried Teriyaki Mackerel, dry noodles with Thai chilli padi and fish sauce.

After a 4 hour decant this was singing. These wines needs to be decanted for a good amount of time as they come out closed from bottle. The fruit is pure with typical cab franc tastes of bell pepper and pyrazine but not vegetal. A very long aftertaste...needs another 5 or 7 years before hitting its adulthood

Better after decanting, always one of my favorite wines and producers.
