I generally like Abe's wines but I am befuddled by other's admiration for for this over-ripe, oxidized, residual sugar laden, dull and simple white.

Tropical nose. Salty lemons, pineapple, vanilla. Full. Bigger than your expected sauv.

Didn’t get to try these side by side, but within a few days of each other. The Camilla is typically a barrel-selection of wines intended for the La Severita di Bruto bottling. In certain vintages, richer, longer-fermenting barrels prone to Malo go to Camilla, while others go to the leaner LSB. The 2013 was the first Camilla since 2007, so a fun comparison. Both were fragrant Sauv Blancs, with just a hint of sweetness. Interesting that the difference in alcohol was not that perceptible, with the ‘07 in the 15’s and the ‘13 in the 13’s.

I believe the fresher, higher acidity barrels go into the LSB, with the longer fermenting, richer barrels going to the DC. Full bodied, full flavored Sauv Blanc.

Nothing like the Dagueneau, but a nice Cali Sauv Blanc in its own way. Peach, pear.

A bit more curvaceous than its 13.8% ABV would suggest. Very perfumed, peach pit and tropicals on the palate. Full bodied and surprisingly long finish. Not for the AFWE. Mrs A really enjoyed this one.
