Pepper, leather, licorice / blackberry / firm tannic structure

Light, a bit tannic and spare, but drinkable.

Nice finish. Black cherry.

Perfume on the nose, dried cherry, blackberry on the palate, lots of tannins that’s paired well with a little acid and fat in our food.

Cured smoked meat. Crushed violets and raspberries. Leather. Firm tannins and medium finish

A demon of a wine, with an angel’s charm. One of my all time favourites.
Amazing aromatics with ripe cherry & blackberry, autumn leaves, cedar and orange peel. Medium bodied on the palate with a Herculean dry tannic grip. Great acidity and impeccable balance & carries the 15% alc effortlessly.
This one, after 9y, is still a baby - got to keep the other bottles well hidden so I don’t drink them too early.

Subtle on the nose, balanced structure. Interesting- I expected a little more depth and complexity. Good, drinkable. Tart finish with some tannins.

Beautiful medium ruby color, with aromas and flavors of fig, blackberry pie, raisin, sweet tobacco and chocolate, with sandalwood, spice and mineral notes. Velvety but pleasantly chalky in texture, very long, it is grippy but the tannins are rounded and well-integrated. Dry and well-balanced, with medium acidity. Well preserved for a half-bottle. 15% abv. A gem.

I’m a sagrantino fan, but this was still a bit too sharp for an 8-year old bottle. Even as some the tannins have mellowed the complexity is masked by some of the sharpness and the alcohol.

Tart tannins, robust fruit. Peppery, but not very complex. Pairs well with food.
