Plums, red fruit, soil, and graphite on the nose. Plum, blackberry, earth flavors mix with firm tannins on the drying finish. I would hold this a few more years, but could drink now with a nice steak and an hour decant. Always a quality wine for the money.

Perhaps the standard bearer of Fronsac. Smoke, charcoal, savory black fruit, with firm velvety tannins. Alluring and balanced.

Drinking some wine and watching How to Get Away with Murder with India. The color of the wine is dark opaque red. Smells like a papermill, a little pencil shavings, and dark berries. After two hours, opens with a more barnyard like nose, like hay and possibly cheese. It is warming. Strong tannins 7.5/10, moderate to full body, very dry like sandpaper. Very heavy, and like dry thickness. In taste some cassis appears after 2 hrs. Overall not a bad bottle of french Bordeaux for $30. A few more years would be really good for this wine.

I've been looking for that $30 bottle that outshines any other - I think I've found it. Parker calls this the benchmark for fronsac and a sleeper of the vintage.. The nose is gorgeous with notes of vanilla, coffee bean, lilac, and lavender. On the palate, it's supple and enticing with sweet strawberries, chewy vanilla and oak, chocolate covered cherries and a velvety kirsch finish. Yup, it's good.

Kinda dumb initially but as soon as I began to think that, the dried fruit began to jump out with some faint leather. It's got the tannins and acidity to go for another couple years. Opened it too young.

Very well structured, like most 2011 Bordeaux it needs more time in the bottle. Give this wine a couple years and it's going to be absolutely killer!

Decanted 30min. Great profile of dark cherries, blueberries, graphite, cedar, and leather. Tannins were solid but not dominant.
