When I say this wine is funky, please know that it's a major compliment. Aged for two years in Slovenian oak casks, it has a purple hue that is gorgeous to behold. Spicy, with tart overtones, it lingers on the tongue so you can really taste the fruit. You'll get all the earthiness and rusticness that you knew you wanted from this, as well. This wine is perfect for food pairings.
On another note, the Cannonau wines from Sardinia supposedly have the highest levels of antioxidants of any wine in the world. And antioxidants are good for you! So this is Dr approved!

Really love this wine. Home made pasta, sauce and meatballs tonight. Feel like I'm back on the northern western coast of Italy....warm, salty seas with a hint of earth and a tinge of brine. Magnificent!!

Rustic, fatty and old school. Pairs perfectly with a fatty ribeye.

A little hot right out of the gate but opens into a solid funk, dry, tart, and herbal, with black fruit notes. Putting this gem into our regular rotation!

It is a little funky in a good way. Earthy but more like a cross between Pinot noir and merlot.

Very nice, inky, full-bodied red. Paired very well with a pasta and wild boar ragu.
