Trite to say, perhaps, but having just ate kiwi, this wine is surprisingly reminiscent. Wonderful stones, apples, grass, and toffee on the nose. I taste something astringent, almost kiwi-like, and slightly like petrol. Don't know what this was like in its youth but I like it now. There is a touch more butter than I'd like it the freshness of the nose carries through with nice acid and that astringency. Drink up!

Jan 21st, 2017Full and beautiful, wet stones, vanilla, light honey, and I must say it, kiwi, pop on the nose. The mouth shows soft butterscotch and classy medium acid. First Kumeu for me and I'm glad I have more.
